Brunei – an amazing trip to the Asian Sultanate
The country placed between the Sarawak and the South China Sea, the Brunei Sultanate, or full name of which is Nagara Brunei Darussalam, literally translated “Abode of Peace”, has very modest territorial dimensions. The country’s economy is exclusively based on oil production, which ranks it among the richest countries in the world. Once the Sultanate was a colony of Great Britain, but in 1984 independence from British Brunei was proclaimed.
When you travel to Brunei, you will certainly notice the fusion of majestic luxury and respect for traditions.
The capital of the country Bandar Seri Begawan is the administrative and commercial center of Brunei, the heart of the cultural landscape of the Sultanate. The city is quite lively, but at the same time quiet, modern, but not under the control of time.
Arrive at the Sultanate of Brunei, in the northern part of the island of Borneo, is possible using the international airport of Brunei, which is disposed 11 km from Bandar Seri Begawan and serves the entire Sultanate.
The climate in the Sultanate of Brunei is typically equatorial, warm and fairly humid, with abundant rainfall throughout the year.
Among the important attractions of Brunei it is worth noting its beaches. Muara Beach is located only 27 km from Bandar Seri Begawan and is an ideal place for a family holiday. Not far from here you can also reach Meragang Beach, which is called Crocodile Beach, but fortunately, there are no big reptiles here.
Again, just 10 minutes drive from Muara, you can discover the lively Serasa beach, which is a haven for water sports lovers.
It is worth to visit the beach of Pantai Seri Kenangan, the literal translation of which means “unforgettable beach”. Placed in Kuala Tutong, it is a very popular holiday destination and the beauty of the beach is highlighted by a narrow strip of land that connects to the South China Sea on one side and the Tutong River on the other. This beach is located five minutes drive from the city of Tutong and is an ideal place for picnics, fishing and swimming.
Devote your time to exploring interesting places on the planet, when traveling to the Sultanate of Brunei!
Tutong is a sparsely populated region, with ethnic diversity and, in fact, represents a completely different side of Brunei. In just half an hour’s drive from Bandar Seri Begawan, you can reach Tutong, which offers the opportunity to see the different cultures and unique lifestyle of the Brunei countryside.
Here the magnificence of natural beauty is dominant. For example, quite spectacular is the mysterious and winding Lake Tasek Merimbun, surrounded by marshes and tombs of the 15th century.
Truly wild nature you can enjoy in the remote region of Temburong, where the untouched jungle hosts. Here are the rare orchids bloom, elusive monkeys with long, curved noses, and winding rivers, pass through a virgin forest.
