Daily Car Rental in Yerevan: What’s Included and Extra Costs

Planning your daily car rental in Yerevan the right way will help you keep your travel budget under control. Typically, the base rate covers the vehicle for 24 hours, standard insurance, and 24/7 customer support. However, your final costs depend on the fuel policy, optional extras, and compliance with the rental agreement. In this guide, Naniko staff explain our standard rates and possible additional charges so you can plan your travel expenses across Armenia without unexpected costs.

What Should You Check Before Renting a Car?

Rental terms. Before renting a car, carefully review all the rental terms and make sure you understand what you can and cannot do with the vehicle. Find out why an additional driver must be listed in the rental agreement, how the fuel policy works, and what the insurance covers.

Vehicle condition. Before taking the car, inspect it carefully. Check that the air conditioning and all sensors are working properly, and note any existing damage. Take photos of the vehicle, both inside and out, to avoid potential disputes later.

What Is Included in the Daily Car Rental Price?

  • Rental vehicle. The price includes the car itself, provided in good working condition, clean, and with a full tank of fuel.
  • Standard insurance. The basic insurance package includes theft protection and limits your financial liability in the event of a collision. Keep in mind that standard insurance almost never covers damage to tires, wheels, the windshield, undercarriage, or interior.
  • Unlimited mileage. Major car rental companies like Naniko do not impose mileage limits. You can drive without mileage restrictions during your rental period.
  • 24/7 customer support. Company staff are available around the clock to answer questions about operating the vehicle and, in some cases, provide route recommendations.

What Costs Extra?

  • Cleaning fee. If you return the car excessively dirty, an additional cleaning fee of AMD 5,000 will apply.
  • Fuel policy. You receive the car with a full tank and must return it with a full tank, as required by the rental agreement. Otherwise, you will be charged AMD 500 for each missing liter of fuel.
  • Additional driver. If someone else will be driving the car, you must add this option to your rental. This is a paid service, and the additional driver’s details must be included in the rental agreement.
  • Cross-border fee. If you plan to travel to a neighboring country, such as Georgia, you must arrange permission separately. The cross-border travel fee is paid directly at the car rental office.

Optional Extras for Daily Car Rentals

  1. Full coverage insurance. An additional insurance package that reduces your expenses in the event of an accident or vehicle damage, subject to the terms of the rental agreement.
  2. 24/7 road assistance. Roadside assistance services, such as towing if the vehicle breaks down or is damaged, can be added to your rental before pickup.
  3. One-way car rental. This service is useful if you need to return the car in another country. For example, you can rent a car in Yerevan and return it in Tbilisi or another city in Georgia where the company has a branch.
  4. 24-hour delivery. An option for customers who need a car delivered to their hotel or any other address at a specific time of day or night.
  5. Full-to-Empty Tank. You can pay for the fuel in advance when picking up the car and return it with any amount of fuel left in the tank.
  6. Additional equipment. When booking a car, you can add child seats, portable Wi-Fi routers, or navigation systems to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can’t return the car at the agreed time?

Make sure to notify the rental manager in advance. Customers are generally given a 30–60-minute grace period at no extra charge. If the delay is longer, you will have to pay an additional charge for each extra hour.

Do I have to pay traffic fines?

Yes, all traffic fines are the renter’s responsibility. Renting a car does not exempt you from the responsibility to follow the rules of the road.

What about parking in Yerevan? Is it included in the rental price?

Paid city parking is not included in the rental price. The renter is responsible for paying for parking in designated zones marked with red lines on the road.

What should I do if I get a flat tire or an unfamiliar warning light comes on while driving?

Do not try to fix the problem yourself. Pull over in a safe place and call the car rental company’s support team immediately.

A clear understanding of the rental terms helps prevent misunderstandings and makes your trip on Armenia’s roads more comfortable and predictable.
