What Cars Do Women Rent?

Many people assume that women choose rental cars solely based on their color and appearance. However, the survey results tell a different story.

In brief: Women most often rent compact and mid-size cars in classes A, B, C and D, including Volkswagen Polo, Kia Rio and Kia Ceed. The main factors are ease of handling and fuel economy in the city, rather than appearance.

Experts from Naniko’s analytics and statistics department surveyed men and women who rented cars in Armenia between 2025 and 2026. Women accounted for around 32% of all customers, representing more than 529 women aged 25 to 55. Of all respondents, 97% were tourists from different countries, while only 3% were local residents. The survey was based on actual customer choices rather than interviews with randomly selected passersby.

The survey showed that women generally prefer car models that are easy to handle and economical to drive. Naniko is one of the largest car rental companies in Armenia, with a fleet of more than 100 passenger cars across several classes. This allows the company to meet different customer needs.

Why Do Most Women Prefer Compact Rental Cars?

Many women who rent cars deliberately choose compact and mid-size models. The main reasons are ease of handling, lower fuel consumption and easier parking. These features are especially useful in busy city traffic. Smaller cars are easier to park and maneuver through narrow streets. Lower fuel consumption can also reduce the cost of everyday driving. This makes compact and mid-size rental cars a practical choice for city driving.
